On August 18 from 5-7:30 pm, David Yarrow, recognized as one of the world’s best-selling photographers, will join us for an artist reception. At 6:30 pm he will give a free talk about his groundbreaking work, discussing pieces from his Wild West Series, shot over the past couple of years, as well as images from his Storytelling Series. David’s large-format, evocative, and immersive photography of life on earth has earned him an ever-growing following amongst both national and international art collectors.
On August 19 from 5 – 7:30 pm, a group show and reception will highlight several of the gallery’s Native American artists, select non-Native artists, and several guest artists. Featured artists include Ben Nighthorse, Ray Tracey, Kevin Red Star, Star Liana York, Thom Ross, Arlene LaDell Hayes, Tony Stromberg, Robert Rivera, and many more.
On August 20 & 21 from 10 am – 5 pm a market-like setting at the gallery will allow for opportunities to spend time reconnecting with our talented artists and guest artists and to select from new works created specifically for this historic weekend.
On August 18 at 3 pm and August 21 at 12 pm, two free lectures will be held discussing Navajo weavings as we again partner with our longtime friend and associate Jackson Clark. A large collection of Navajo rugs, vintage and contemporary, from many different areas of the Navajo Reservation are available at Sorrel Sky Santa Fe throughout the year.
“It’s amazing to think that this is the 100th Indian Market and that Sorrel Sky is celebrating its 20th year. This season is always an exciting time for us at the gallery, but this year it’s even more special.”— Shanan Campbell
