Let’s make plans for the first Friday in August. We can meet in Santa Fe or Durango. In-person or virtually, you choose. While you’re deciding, enjoy some amazing art from three amazing artists.
“Colors Of The West,” will feature the works of renowned sculptor Star Liana York and acclaimed Crow artist, Kevin Red Star. Whether consciously or unconsciously, each has made color an integral part of their work. Recognized for how they preserve historical and cultural details, and depict people and animals with dignity and respect, this show will highlight how their use of color emotes and evokes feelings. Opening on August 7, 2020, with an artist reception from 5-7:30 pm at the gallery’s Santa Fe location at 125 W. Palace Ave, the show continues through August 31.
“Unbridled” also opens on August 7, and highlights the fine art equine photography of Tony Stromberg. The horses in his powerful and distinctive imagery are never, ever restrained. There are no riders, no saddles, no bits, no bridles. They are unbridled. That unbridled spirit is palpable in Stromberg’s imagery. Opening reception with the artist is from 5-7:00 pm at the gallery’s Durango location at 828 Main Ave. Exhibition continues through August 31.
Be sure to contact us with your questions about any of the art seen here or on our website. Our art consultants look forward to hearing from you.
“We find happiness not just in creativity, but in cultivating creativity. What we invest our hearts and minds in makes for a rich happy life.”
Star Liana York
“If you had a lodge, you had a home, a place for your family, shelter from storms and wind, a closeness during winter, a place to move to follow the herds.”
Kevin Red Star
“To me, unbridled means without restraint or control of any kind, to be truly and fully one’s self.”
Tony Stromberg
Have you or someone you know ever wanted to experience the thrill of photographing horses? Tony Stromberg is teaching a workshop the week before his show. Attend yourself or give as a gift. If full, check back for future opportunities!
