kai-oberhauser-309715-unsplash.jpgWe’re so excited to announce our 2019 Workshop SeriesFeaturing drawing, painting, color theory, sculpture, and printmaking, ten gallery represented artists, as well as two guest artists, will share their inspiration and expertise, offering personal insights and individualized attention, building your knowledge and confidence.

Starting in February and ending in June 2019, these 1, 2 and 3-day workshops will be available to beginner, intermediate, advanced and professional artists at our two locations, 828 Main Ave, Durango, Colorado, and 125 W. This 3-day workshop will focus on learning how to easily and successfully capture the greens of spring and summer in your landscapes. This class is open to artists of all ability levels.

The Lens and Life of Expressionist Realism with BJ Briner, March 23&24 – Durango
Seeking curious painters looking to explore layering techniques of oil on paper, using different mediums of paper and materials to create collaged landscapes. This class is for beginners to intermediate.

Plein Air 101 – Taking It Outside with Peggy Immel, April 5-7 – Durango
For studio painters who have always wanted to paint en plein air. Explore systems and approaches that will make painting outside successful and fun. This class is open to artists experienced with their chosen medium.

Landscape Painting From Photographs with Bob Rohm, April 6&7 – Santa Fe
Use your own photographs to create studio landscapes that capture the feeling of a place, the atmosphere and overall sense of the environment. This class is open to artists interested in painting clean, color-rich, compositions.

The (UN)Limited Palette with John Farnsworth, June 1&2 – Santa Fe
Learn the basics of color theory and color mixing using only the three primary colors: blue, red, yellow (plus white in oil or acrylic) and discover a truly unlimited palette. This class is open to artists of all ability levels.
